The centre-back, who has plenty of time left on his current deal, is in no rush to discuss new terms.
It comes off the back of several players signing new deals in 2018.
But Rudiger told Standard Sport: “That’s not the case (a new deal). I think there is also no need. I still have three-and-a-half years (on my current contract) to go.
“I like it here, but there is no speaking between me and the club. It is not necessary at the moment.
“I am trying to do my best, improve day by day, game by game. That’s what I’m all about. Of course this season is going well for me personally, but there is always space to improve.”
The Blues are concerned that a FIFA transfer ban regarding the transfers of minors could impact them in the coming summer – so they want all their players signed up before then.
